Happy 80th Beach Cookies

I had the great pleasure of making up a batch of beach-themed cookies for an 80th birthday celebration. These were both my Almond-Vanilla and Chocolate Chip cookies and were in the recipient's favorite colors.

They were finished with a pearl dusting to give them that dreamy, beachy feel and I just love the way that they turned out!

Hope that you enjoy the pics.

Headed Home Cookies

These cookies may look familiar to you since they are very similar to ones I recently did for a Homecoming planning party. There are a few new designs in there but otherwise we have stars, stars, stars.

However, this batch is going further afield..... These are headed out to a US Navy ship currently on deployment! So you better believe these babies are going to be packed up tight. I know what happens to boxes during mail call!

I am pretty excited for the Sailor who is going to receive these as a little pre-homecoming surprise. What a thoughtful gift!

Thanks Sherry!

"I am SPEED" Cookies

Alek is about to turn 3 and his mom called for some cookies for the Birthday boy. She requested personalized Lightning McQueen cookies, and boy were these fun to make! It was hard to get my kids to stay away from them!

Often making character cookies can be a royal pain since a little error can leave you with a cookie that doesn't look quite right.... the colors are off, or the face not quite right. No one wants Dora with bug eyes or

Character cookies are actually pretty tough to get right and when I get requests for them I usually go for a simple design in order to ensure that the character is correctly represented in dough and icing form.

These have a simple design, but they still scream Lightning McQueen. As an added touch I baked up some mini-bites in the shape of a "3" and decorated them to look like a road.

I hope the Birthday boy loves them! Thanks Marisa!

US Navy Homecoming Planning Cookies

As you may know I am a Navy spouse and also a Navy veteran. I love my Navy! So I was really happy to get to make the cookies for this latest platter.

Just as in the other services, homecoming is a BIG deal. But there is so much preparation that happens before the big day arrives.... logistics, schedules and so much more.

To get this accomplished a team of hard working folks get together to plan the day and try to make it special for both the returning Sailor, and their families. These planning events, while not only vital to making the day go smooth, also ramp up the excitement!

These cookies we made for one such Homecoming planning event. If you look, you can see some cookies say "Almost Home". I am sure that each and every person who enjoy these cookies today can't wait until they say "Welcome Home".

End of Season Cookies

Well Baseball, Softball and T-Ball seasons have come to a close and to celebrate many teams are having an end-of-season party.

These cookies were made for one such party, for a team of six and sever year olds- the CUBS!

Each child received a ball with their name personalized on it. Kids get a big kick out of personalized items. Heck, don't we all?
